Stroszek, Werner Herzog, Haringey Independent Cinema, 26-28th November

Herzog's 1977 off-beat road film is showing at the community-run HIC which, for the last two-years, has been bringing independent, alternative and undeground cinema to the big screen. The improvised classic is a must-see for anyone interested in the history of European cinema.

"This fascinating portrayal of alienation in an increasingly hostile world is on many film critics ‘must see’ lists. Herzog skillfully depicts the pathos of everyday survival in this brilliant tragicomedy, which is enhanced by the casting of mainly local people."

Alien Jams presents: Shaped Noise, oMMM & Design a Wave, Cafe Oto, Thursday 27th November

Alien Jams, a weekly retro sci-fi and electronic music show on Dalston-based NTS radio, are putting on a night with several of their favourite artists at Cafe Oto. Expect lovingly crafted electronic weirdness from Shaped Noise, oMMM & London-based artist Design a Wave. The DJ throughout the night will be Haywire member Shelley Parker.

My Vocabulary Did This To Me, Lawrence Weiner/Various Artists, South London Gallery, Peckham, 22-23rd November

Art inspired by the work of Jack Spicer, including a selection of films from Lawrence Weiner, will be presented in the South London Gallery this weekend. This programme features his comic films, or "motion drawings" along with other works that will be shown on loop throughout the day. In the evening Lawrence Weiner's most recent film DIRTY EYES will get its UK premier. Also including performances and other work from Ben Cain, Adam Christensen, Dina Danish, Mary Hurrell, Dorine Van Meel and Camilla Wills.
