Coming Together by Frederic Rwezski (featuring Steve Ben Israel)
Working with Baba Israel on his latest show The Spinning Wheel Keeps Turning let us into the curious and charmed world of his father; the late, great Steve Ben Israel.

This powerful piece from Rwezski turned out to feature the artist on lead vocal and, by another wonderful coincidence, was being performed in London during Baba's recent visit. in case you missed the original, here it is for you.

Alaap and Alpana, Southbank Centre, Friday 16-17th May
A free 24-hour performance-ritual involving dancing, painting and communal feasting, by artist Ansuman Biswas. Audiences can join in with the performance, which features song, sculpture, conversation and cooking.

Alaap means conversation in Sanskrit, and is also the description for a gradual unfolding of sound. Over the day-long period a design will be created in the rice, invoking the agricultural rhythms of his life in Bangladesh.

South London's favourite fortnightly dance party is back again this weekend with a line up including resident DJ Bradley Zero and special guest Frankie Valentine. Get there early, as the the queue is liable to strech around the corner.
